Fall Carnival
The Fall Carnival is pretty much what you remember from your days at elementary school: Games, attractions, performances, food, and tons of energy-burning activities for the whole family. This is an all hands on deck party that parents put on for the students. Each classroom is in charge of a game or attraction with parent volunteers recruited by classroom captains at the start of the school year. Financial sponsorships are accepted and you’ll also be asked to donate gently used books for the book walk, baked goods for the sweet shop, and maybe a couple of other things. Advance ticket sales is in mid-October and you’ll get plenty of notice. It’s cheaper to buy early because the cost goes up at the door. The 2016 Carnival will be in October. You’d better start figuring out your Halloween costume right now.

Grocery Card Fundraiser
The Grocery Card Program at Bryker Woods raises about 10% of the PTA budget each year by selling HEB, Randalls and Wheatsville grocery cards to parents. We purchase the cards at a discount from the grocery stores and sell them at face value, earning about 2-4% for the school with each sale. If you buy groceries, using the Grocery Card Program doesn’t cost anything extra, and the more people that participate, the more funds we raise. Panther Fund
Every year we raise funds for the PTA using three main fundraisers; the Panther Fund, the Fall Carnival and Spring Fling. Instead of asking you to turn your child into a salesperson (and making your life miserable in the process), we don’t sell wrapping paper, cookies or candles, we simply ask for a donation that you can afford for your family. This yearly donation funds a major portion of the PTA’s budget including field trips for all grades, computers in each classroom, and a technology specialist to assist our teachers.

Spring Fling
This is our annual auction to raise funds for our school. Items and services are donated by families and local businesses. Auction items are then sold to the highest bidder. Each classroom donates a themed basket that the parents either contribute items to or fund with donations. We have begun holding the Spring Fling auction off-campus as a “Parents Only” event.
