The Science Fair is just like what you remember from school! All students, from kindergarten through 6th grade, are encouraged to participate, and display their student-led experiments and research projects for the whole school to view. It is a perfect opportunity for kids to be fun and messy (if that is what floats your boat!), all while learning more about something that makes them curious. Staff and volunteers judge projects and award winners. Top projects in grades 3–6th may even continue on to take part in the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Student Events Chair.
Why should you do a science fair project?
- It’s your chance to find out more about something that makes you curious!
- It can be fun and messy (if you want it to be)
- It gives you an opportunity to learn about science and a chance to practice being a scientist.
- Every participant gets a ribbon. Top projects (only grades 3-6 are eligible) will be invited to take part in the Austin Energy Regional Science Fest in February.
All students, from kindergarten through sixth grade, are encouraged to participate. Students may work individually or with one or two partners.
