The Gifted and Talented (GT) program at Bryker Woods/AISD is one in which the students are enriched within their classroom environments (AISD model called “clustering”). Each teacher at Bryker Woods has not only completed a thirty-hour course on the foundations of teaching children identified as GT, but also completes at least six hours of professional development every school year to further develop tools, techniques, and strategies to enrich all students’ learning.
In the 2015-16 HB5 Community and Student Engagement Campus Designations for Educational Programs for Gifted and Talented Students, Bryker Woods received an overall “Exemplary” rating. Areas included: Student Assessment, Program Service Design, Curriculum and Instruction.
